Homework for week of Sept. 6th- 9th.

Notes 9/7/11-

Today in class we had an essential question to answer. The essential question is What responsibilities does America have to end human rights violation. We also learned what Global Independence is, it is when each country relies on each other to survive. we also worked on moodle in class, there is an assignment in moodle.

Today we talked about global interdependence and wrote on the board different products, that we used in our stories yesterday, and where they were made.
Then we took the following notes:

Subsistent Needs-
*A person's basic requirement to live:
  • food
  • water
  • shelter
  • clothing
  • these are things needed for survival
  • the difference between between wants and needs.
Factors of Economic Activities-
*There are many different factors but we will highlight some of the more important ones:
  • topography
  • climate
  • natural resources (scarcity)
  • opportunity costs
  • technology
  • how does each one affect your life?
Free Market Trade:
-Advantages: build bonds, variety, freedom, meet needs, money, little regulations
-Disadvantages:inequality
Three Classifications:
*Developed Nations ( Industrialized)
Ex. U.S., U.K, France, Canada
*Developing Nations (Industrializing)
Ex. India, China, Venezuela
*Under-Developed Nations( Not Industrialized)
Ex. Many African American countries, Kazakistan

After we took notes, we played the World Economy Stimulation Game.

Tolerance and Diversity:
-Essential Question: How have the historic lack of tolerance created domestic and foreign conflicts?

*We started class today with the Geography Quiz, on Moodle and later completed the "Lizzie's Morning" prompt, found on Moodle as well. We also started the September 11th prompt, which is also on Moodle, which was due for homework on Monday 9/12/11.
